No CVWMA Trash and Curbside Collection on New Year’s Day

There will be no CVWMA curbside recycling or trash collection on New Year’s Day (Tuesday, Jan. 1). BLUE WEEK curbside recyclers will have one day delay in collections January 2-5.  Curbside recyclers should place bins or carts at the curb by 7 am on the day after their regularly scheduled day. Friday collections will take place on Saturday.

CVWMA’s trash collections Tuesday through Friday in the City of Hopewell, Colonial Heights and Petersburg will have a one day delay in trash collection the week of Jan. 2-5.

Curbside Collection Schedule and Route Changing Reminder

The Curbside Recycling Collection Schedules for 2013 are in the process of being delivered by local mail carriers to over 244,000 eligible homes in the area. Look for your 2013 schedule to arrive in your mailbox by mid January.  If you have any questions about our curbside recycling program (especially those who have been sent notification by postcard  that your collection day is changing beginning the week of January 7) or to see if you are eligible for this service, call the Recycling Hotline at 340-0900.

If you are not eligible for curbside, CVWMA offers numerous drop-off recycling sites in the region.

Like Us on Facebook through contest with WRIC TV 8 (January 7-9, 2013) and you may be the lucky winner of a $100 VISA gift card. Visit WRIC’s Facebook page starting on 1/7/13 for more details

Christmas Tree Recycling Available in Central Virginia

If trees are part of your recent holiday festivities, remember that your Christmas tree can be recycled. Click here for a complete list of locations in your area to recycle your holiday tree. Most sites grind the trees into a mulch product that can be used for water and weed control. Be sure to check with your local government to see if it offers free mulch to its residents.

Curbside on Regular Schedule for Upcoming Holidays

CVWMA curbside recycling collections will continue as regularly scheduled for Lee-Jackson Day (Friday, January 18) and for Martin Luther King Day (Monday, January 21).
