America Recycles Day, November 15 |
America Recycles Day (ARD), recognized annually on November 15, celebrates the successes of recycling while providing an educational platform that helps raise awareness about the importance of reducing, reusing and recycling - every day - all throughout the year.
On November 15th, CVWMA is partnering with Keep Virginia Beautiful, TFC Recycling, and the Retail Merchant’s Association to provide recycling programs and educational resources for local businesses. CVWMA’s role in this event is to provide recycling awareness for single family homeowners.
Call the Recycling Hotline at 340-0900 to see if you are eligible for curbside recycling. If you are not eligible, CVWMA offers numerous drop-off recycling sites in the region.

| Thanksgiving Holiday to Delay Curbside Recycling & Trash Collection |
There will be no curbside recycling or trash collection on Thanksgiving Day (November 24). Thursday and Friday curbside recyclers in Hanover County, Chesterfield County, Cities of Richmond and Colonial Heights will have a one day delay in curbside collection due to the holiday. Collection will take place on the day following the regularly scheduled collection day.
Trash collection in Petersburg will occur on the day following the normal collection day

| Be Responsible! Secure your Load and Stop Litter! |
You can do your part to help prevent litter, accidents and pollution! When using any vehicle or trailer to haul material, take a few minutes to secure the load. You are responsible for it; and it is also the law!
