Labor Day Holiday to Delay Recycling and Trash Collections

CVWMA curbside recycling and trash collection schedules will be delayed one day the week of September 3 in observance of Labor Day. No collections will be made on Monday; thus all collections during this week will occur on the day following the normal collection day. Friday collections will occur on Saturday.

Colonial Heights Trash Collection on Regular Schedule

The Labor Day holiday will not impact trash collection service in Colonial Heights. City residents’ trash will be picked up on normal collection day - Wednesday, September 5.

Pet Waste, Water Quality, and You

Every time it rains, thousands of pounds of pet waste wash down storm drains and into local streams, rivers, and waterways. If not disposed of properly, pet waste flows directly into nearby streams and creeks without being treated at wastewater treatment facilities. Please pick up after your pet and dispose of pet waste properly. Animal droppings carried by storm water runoff contain harmful bacteria that can pollute our waterways.

Electronic Recycling Events Planned for Fall

Several CVWMA member localities are hosting e-waste collection events this fall. Click here for date, location and times. In addition, several jurisdictions offer year round e-cycling at their convenient centers. It's that easy!
